Thanks for the link. I always enjoy seeing new critter cams. I'm wondering about something though. Is that an alien baby under the tree, putting out its' hand asking for help? LOL Or did one of your children just leave a doll out there? Hard to believe your birds ignore your feeders. We can't keep ours filled.

We can't keep ours filled. That's a mannequin baby that used to be up in the tree crawling on a branch with a suet feeder in it's hand. Apparently not made for outside use though as the arm came off (or maybe the squirrels did it.) Didn't have a lot of birds all summer but then, just recently, they're all over the place and I have been doing a lot of filling myself. I hope it keeps up for the winter.

LOL That sounds like what happens to the decorations I try to put outside. Well, word probably finally got out that you have food. It takes a while for them to find it. We spend a fortune on keeping ours filled. I just bought a bunch more at Walmart today. It is maddening though how I'll put out a bunch that should last the birdies a long time and the deer will come along and gobble it all up in a matter of minutes.

I don't have a problem with deer or aliens; but the squirrels eat up everything I put out. I tried those baffle things, but they usually find a way around them. So I bought squirrel food and dried corn on the cobs for them. They haven't touched it yet. I enjoy watching all the cams. It is really relaxing. We hope to get some up next year; at least around the pond.

... the squirrels eat up everything I put out. I tried those baffle things, but they usually find a way around them. I've been trying to keep the squirrels out for years and I think I finally found something effective, at least I haven't seen any critters in the feeder in a while. I started with 2 - 2 liter coke bottles. Drilled a hole in the center of both caps and in the center of the bottom of one of them. Cut the bottom off of the other one. The two bottles get fastened to each other, bottom to bottom. I taped them together with clear packing tape. Slide a rope thru one of the caps, the hole that's now in the middle and out the other cap. The squirrels should have a hard time getting around this thing. First thing they did was chew thru the rope so I replaced it with a length of wire. They seemed to be trying to get around the bottles anyway so I added the baffle on top and it seems to do the trick.

...added some tasty pumpkins. The small ones are the pitiful products of our garden.

Mr Data, I was just at your cams. There was a squirrel eating your pumpkins and a birdie was at a feeder. I don't mind the squirrels eating things so much, it's the deer. I'll put out seed that should last the birds and squirrels all day and a deer will wipe it all out in a matter of minutes. Ginger, I look forward to you getting cams, the more critter cams the better. Do you know yet what kind of cams you want? I recommend wireless and the PTZ's are fun. Mr Data, do you have chat on your site? I can't find it. I tried to capture a pic of the squirrel eating the pumpkin but couldn't, kept getting that internet explorer has encountered a problem crap. Grr. We've tried growing our own pumpkins. The deer eat them before they are ready to harvest.

There are deer in the area, last I saw them it was a family of 5. We also have 2 dogs, not running loose but still intimidating if you happen to be a deer. The neighbor told me he saw a couple of foxes and a pair of Horned owls, I haven't seen them though. So far the squirrels haven't gotten into the hanging feeder. It's far enuf away from the tree that the can't jump and the 2 coke bottles seem to keep them from climbing down. They have always stayed off of the feeder bolted to the tree, it closes when a heavy squirrel gets on it anyway. I had been putting out corn cobs and those corn logs for them last winter. No chat on my page. You should be able to capture my pictures using <right-click><copy>.

Yes, I know I should be able to capture pics that way. I think maybe it is our security that isn't letting me do it. I can't even do it that way from our own cams, have to go to the cam and click to save there. It makes me mad when I'll see something outside and think our capture feature should get it but when I go look it isn't there. It captures thousands of pictures but seems to miss the particular one I want.
