I created this board because there are those of us that are expecting babies soon and others have young children and grandchildren. Dreamer is expecting her grandson, Rhett, I believe in May. My daughter, Noelle, is expecting her daughter, Abby, in June. That really makes me feel old! I will biologically be a great-grandmother at 65. But, legally I'll be a grandmother, because we adopted Noelle, our granddaughter, raised her from the age of 2. I tried to find a nice pic of a nursery that had a big rocking chair in it. I was surprised I couldn't find any. What's a nursery without a big rocking chair?

I did a search on photobucket and found a few pictures of nurseries with rocking chairs in them, but it wasn't easy. I posted the links in the forum under "Animations, Clipart, Backgrounds".

Yes, I know, odd isn't it that there aren't rocking chairs. I do like the first pic you posted though and think I may come back later and use it. But, I still prefer the big wood rocking chairs. We have one in our living room--huge. I got it from Sears years ago from money I made cleaning up a yard for a realtor that was selling a home across the road from where we used to live. The realtor saw me outside working and asked if I could do something with the yard of the house he was trying to sell. It had been taken over by weeds, was kind of a secret garden thing. There were rose bushes and all kinds of pretty things hidden under the weeds. The guy paid me twice what he said he was going to because the house sold immediately after I cleaned up the yard. LOL But, I had I think 8 rocking chairs delivered before one came that passed my inspection. LOL Sears said they were sending out one more and if I didn't like it, they couldn't send any more. LOL Luckily that one met my approval. Thanks for the pics.

hey peeve, i guess i'm kinda odd i want a plush, soft, rocker recliner to rock my grandson in. the rocker for when he's here and the recliner for when he isn't here, i don't have room for both. the one i live in now is too tall for me to put my feet flat on the floor when sitting in it. so i'm going to be looking for the perfect rocker recliner that has lots of plush cushions for my comfort. my mom had a real nice big wooden rocker that i gave my daughter when my dad died. i'll be doing lots of looking for now til i go back to work and can buy me a nice one.

one cute memory i have of my daughter when she was little is her sleeping on her dad's shoulder while he had the rocker facing the wall with his feet propped up on it leaning back and sleeping along with her too. she was the hardest baby to lay down in her bed at bed time. we would spend hours rocking her cause as soon as we layed her down on the bed she would wake up immediately and start crying and crying so it was back to the rocker. we would take turns with her cause it was so exhausting.the doctor would tell us to just let her cry herself to sleep, but the first time we tried it she cried for half and hour til we gave up and went back to rocking her. once we were able to get her to stay in the bed sleeping she would sleep for 4hrs straight, but i told my hubby he better not make a single sound that might wake her or i would cry my eyes out. my son was totally different though, you could put him down while he was still awake and he would talk himself to sleep, buttttttt after 2hrs he would wake up and not go back to sleep for awhile.we made noise with him when he was alseep and it didn't bother him at all. i hope this baby he's expecting will be as good as he was

LOL Dreamer, I'm not quite 5' tall, so my feet don't touch the floor in any chair unless I sit on the edge. Ron had to modify my car seat so my feet could touch the floor. I just now replaced my nursery pic with one of Sqwrrl's. The chair in her pic looks comfy. I've certainly seen some comfy looking recliners out there. Ron and I are shopping around for new livingroom furniture, plan to put our old stuff in the theatre room downstairs, if and when we get that done. Right now there's hardly any room to walk down there.
Rochelle was a good baby, hardly cried at all. Noelle didn't come to live with us until age 2. But, I think she was a good baby. I hope for her sake her baby will be too.
While I was Google searching for wooden rocking chairs, I found this link, thought it funny...www.cartoonstock.com/directory/r/rocking_chairs.asp
